The necessity for a lucrative and economically viable agricultural sector to supply the world's growing population with the food and fiber it needs is increasing along with it. Food and fiber production must be done more sustainably and with more efficiency. The agricultural industry is undergoing a significant transformation right now, partly because of advancements in agricultural technology (digital agriculture).
B.Sc. Agriculture and Technology Honors offers expertise in the established fields of agricultural science and the burgeoning data-intensive agricultural technology. To solve the scientific and managerial issues in food systems and value chains, students acquire both agricultural science knowledge and managerial economic knowledge and skills that are required.
They will have a special opportunity to work in this expanding industry thanks to the extended major in Agricultural Sciences and Agribusiness.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE
Integrate agricultural knowledge with kills in geographic information systems (GIS), programming, and data analysis to inform decision-making for improved agricultural productivity
Become critical thinkers who are scientifically proficient and able to address global challenges like climate change and rising demand for food and fiber
Assess how climate, soils, plants, animals, and farm management practices influence agricultural production
PROGRAMME DETAILS
Creating professionals having technical knowledge of Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Organic Farming, Soil Science, Agriculture Extension, Agriculture Economics and Environmental Science.
Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam)
Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, or Agriculture. Relaxation to reserved category students as per State Govt. norms.
(5% relaxation to the students of North East states including Sikkim/ Defense Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants)
Admission Criteria
Based on Merit in the qualifying examination. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH as per State Government norms.
