LIBRARY SCIENCE
The procedures and actions involved in maintaining the record of humanity are the focus of library and information science. At Mansarovar Global University, our initiatives are built upon a long history of the great library and information science education and research.
Our work pushes the limits of library and information science and shows how applicable it is to those beyond the academic community. To better understand the forces influencing the development of our information society, our study investigates historical and modern documentation processes. We support and promote a mutually beneficial information transfer between research and practice.
Students from various backgrounds interested in beginning or advancing within the information professions are encouraged to keep advancing research caliber, student encounters, and career relevance.
Contemporary Fcailities:
A small core academic team's numbers should steadily increase by adding more visiting and guest lecturers, research fellows, and Ph.D. students who also teach. The core team should also be encouraged to support its PhD and MSc students and to pursue excellence in individual research by staff members and fellows.
Seek out cooperation inside the institution, especially through cross-school cooperation Look for opportunities for cooperation outside of the university, such as joint ventures with other academic institutionsto exchange modules cooperate closely with professional organizations and with recruiting firms specializing in the LIS sector domestically and abroad Encouraging submissions from persons with educational and professional backgrounds that aren't often connected with admission into the library/information professions to increase recruitment to our master's programs
Mansarovar Experience:
Faculty of Library Science efforts and priorities align with relevant national, Indian, and global initiatives and priorities. Our instruction strongly focuses on outreach, digital scholarship participation, and conventional and digital media. Our position in Central India, where we have easy access to many collections, exhibitions, and colleagues, really benefits us and encourages innovation and creative thinking.
By preserving a connection between research, scholarship, and teaching in the classroom, concentrating on our existing PG courses, and developing CPD options in research and scholarship, the Library Science disciplines will continue to develop and refocus, especially through cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary work. It strongly emphasizes departmental and personal values in addition to our commitment to academic quality, professional relevance, and social impact.
With a seamless blend of analog and digital, real and virtual, we want to function "on life." This will be done by inviting interested parties to our "after-hours" seminars and "taster" lectures.
The three main areas of our study will be the focus of our research:
- Information literacy, behavior, and understanding
- Documents and documentation
- Philosophy and ethics of information
